<p><b>Hudson's portrait drawings and paintings of men always begin with live male models. She tries to express the nature of the male portrait or body and the art media. The artist's inspiration comes from masters of sensuality like Gauguin, Klimt, Matisse, Degas, and Van Gogh, as well as from traditional arts from around the world and contemporary decorative arts. </b></p>

<p><b>Whether attracted by color, form, movement, or expression, Hudson begins her portraits of men with media that are swift and sensual, and works quickly to capture the male figure or face. This spontaneous portrayal may complete the drawing or painting, or the artist may work the portrait into a complex visual composition, often playful, energized with collage and decorative patterns. </b></p>
