Please start with one of my three main fine art figure exhibits REALISTIC & EXPRESSIONISTIC FIGURES ABSTRACT & DECORATIVE FIGURES PLAYFUL FIGURES My male and female FINE ART FIGURES always begin with live models.  For female figures I like to do abstractions from the major sensuous shapes of the body as well as realistic drawings; for male figures, I like to emphasize the complexity of the male musculature with interesting lines and shading.  Whether attracted by color, form, movement, or expression, I begin with media that are swift and sensual, and work quickly to capture the figure.  This spontaneous figure drawing may complete the art, or I may work the figure into a complex composition, often playful, energized with pattern and collage.  The inspiration for my figure drawings and paintings comes from powerful Renaissance realists like Michaelangelo, and modern masters of sensuality like Gauguin, Klimt, Matisse, Degas, and Van Gogh.  Contemporary art has branched off in many new directions, but the human figure, especially the female figure, retains its universal appeal as a fine art subject over the centuries.
