Playful Figures

These simple, spontaneous
line drawings of relatively
flat and whimsical figures
within collages of multiple
patterns show the influence
of Japanese folk patterns and
ukiyo-e prints on my art.
Though most of these are
drawings in dry media, I also
studied calligraphy in Japan,
which led to a more varied
and calligraphic painted line
in my figures and abstracts.
